Issuer: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives). Seeking a qualified, vibrant and experienced individual to serve as Chief Statistician and Chief Executive Officer of PBS.

| Qualifications | Master's or an advanced university degree; preferably Ph.D. in Statistics or Economics from an HEC-recognized international university. |
| Experience & Skills | Minimum 20 years' professional experience with at least 5 years in senior management in significant national/international organizations. Demonstrated technical knowledge of statistics; experience managing large databases and national statistical surveys; compiling/analyzing National Income Accounts and economic statistics; proven leadership and research record on national and international socioeconomic issues; strong data/statistics analysis skills and use of advanced computer software. |
| Key Responsibilities | Serve as CEO of PBS including: deciding methods for statistical data collection, transmission and publication; supervising census conduct via Provincial Census Commissioners; appraising data quality at national level; coordinating with other statistical agencies and authorities; developing and maintaining analytical and research capacity; preparing annual work plans, budgets and progress reports; developing national statistical standards and ensuring observance by federal/provincial departments and research/statutory bodies. |
| Terms & Appointment | Salary on Special Professional Pay Scale-II. Term of appointment five (05) years; eligible for re-appointment subject to satisfactory performance. Maximum age 60 years on closing date. Government servants should apply through proper channel. |
