Banking Court No. V Karachi Summons Muhammad Basharat in UBL Recovery Suit No. 179 of 2026

Before Dr. Hatim Aziz Solangi, Judge, Banking Court No. V at Karachi, Block-48-C, Pakistan Secretariat, Saddar, Karachi: summons in Suit No. 179 of 2026, United Bank Limited versus Muhammad Basharat, son of Muhammad Hussain.

The plaintiff has instituted a suit for recovery of Rs. 1,721,796.77, along with cost of funds, under Section 9 of the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance, No. XLVI of 2001.

The defendant is summoned to appear before the court on 3 December 2026 at 8:30 AM and apply for leave to defend the suit within thirty (30) days from service of the summons. In case of default, the plaintiff will be entitled, after expiry of that thirty-day period, to obtain a decree with costs and such markup or interest, if any, as the court may order.

The application for leave to defend must be in the form of a written statement and contain a summary of the substantial questions of law and fact for which, in the defendant's opinion, evidence is required to be recorded, as contained in Section 10 of the ordinance.
