| Educational Background | Master's / MS / MPhil in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning, Computer / Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Cybersecurity, Biometrics, Computer Vision or a closely related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution. PhD/Doctorate preferred. Additional qualifications in biometrics, AI/ML, cybersecurity, digital identity, applied cryptography or technology management will be an advantage. |
| Professional Experience & Requirements | Minimum 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience with substantial senior leadership experience in technology, research, engineering, biometrics, digital identity or high-assurance ICT systems. Strong managerial skills, large-team and stakeholder management experience, proven track record in R&D, prototyping, independent testing, benchmarking, pilot deployment and technology transfer. Experience in standards, certification, conformance testing, intellectual property and commercialization is desirable. |
| Key Responsibilities | Provide strategic, scientific and institutional leadership to establish N@DIR as a national centre for biometrics, digital identity, registration-process research and indigenous technology development; lead national research programmes in biometrics, AI/ML and digital identity; develop Pakistan-owned AFIS/ABIS and multimodal biometric technologies; establish national testing, benchmarking and certification capabilities; oversee R&D of biometric devices, secure enrolment equipment, kiosks and mobile platforms; build partnerships with universities, research institutions, standards organisations and industry; lead academic network, research grants, fellowships and technology-transfer programmes; and represent N@DIR at national and international forums. |
