Public Notice: Burns Road (Shahrah-e-Liaquat) to Be Converted into Fully Pedestrianized Food Street

Issuer: Director Administration, Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Saddar‑Karachi. This public notice announces the TMC‑Saddar, in coordination with Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), intends to convert Burns Road Food Street (Shahrah‑e‑Liaquat), District South, into a fully pedestrianized street under Council Resolution No. 93 dated 30.09.2026.

Upon implementation the street will be closed to all vehicular traffic and reserved exclusively for pedestrians. Vehicular traffic will be diverted to adjoining roads and parking will be provided in the vicinity as per traffic rerouting and parking plans. The project aims to provide residents, traders and visitors with a safe, clean and pedestrian‑friendly public space and to restore the cultural and historic character of the food street.

All concerned departments, agencies, organizations, traders, shopkeepers, residents and property owners are requested to submit suggestions and objections regarding the proposal by Wednesday, 2026-11-04. Submitted comments will be heard on Thursday, 2026-11-05 in the office of the undersigned at KRS Captain Road near Haqqani Chowk (opposite Arambagh Police Station), TMC‑Saddar, Karachi. Any suggestions, objections or comments received after the stipulated period will not be entertained.
