Banking Court III Karachi Summons Afaan Shakeel in UBL Recovery Suit No. 183 of 2026

Banking Court No. III at Karachi, before Judge Mrs. Naushaba Kazi, has issued a summons to Afaan Shakeel, son of Shakeel Ahmed, in Suit No. 183 of 2026, filed by United Bank Limited through its attorneys for recovery of Rs. 2,334,615.76, together with cost of funds, under Section 9 of the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance, 2001.

The claim concerns the balance of principal and markup due. The defendant is summoned to obtain leave from the court to appear and defend the suit within 30 days of service of the summons and to arrange for an appearance to be entered within that period.

Leave to appear may be sought through an application to the court supported by an affidavit or declaration showing a defence to the suit on its merits, or reasonable grounds for allowing the defendant to appear.

If the defendant defaults, the plaintiff may, after expiry of the 30-day period, obtain a decree for a sum not exceeding Rs. 2,334,615.76, together with costs and any markup and cost of funds from the date the suit was instituted, as the court may order.

The matter is fixed for 4 December 2026 at 9:00 a.m. before Banking Court No. III, Block No. 50, Pakistan Secretariat, near Passport Office, Saddar, Karachi.

The summons was issued under the hand and seal of the court on 29 October 2026, by order of the Reader, Banking Court No. III, Karachi.
