Sindh Health Department Final Show Cause Notice to Staff Nurse Rehan Hussain

The Government of Sindh, Health Department, Karachi, has issued a final show cause notice dated March 2025 to Mr. Rehan, son of Munawar Hussain, Staff Nurse (BS-16), Dr. Ruth K. M. Pfau Civil Hospital, Karachi, CNIC 42301-5173334-1.

The notice refers to an earlier show cause notice issued under Rule 4-A read with sub-rule (3) of Rule 5 of the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973, through reference No. SO(NC)R-749/SPSC/2020 dated February 21, 2024. Mr. Rehan failed to respond within the stipulated time.

The Secretary Health, Government of Sindh, acting as the competent authority, has concluded that the charge of misconduct has been proved. After considering the case, the authority proposes to impose a penalty under Rule 4 of the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973, which may include removal or dismissal from service.

Under clause (b), sub-rule (4) of Rule 5, Mr. Rehan is called upon to explain why a penalty should not be imposed. His reply must reach the undersigned within 14 days of receiving this notice. If he fails to reply, it will be presumed that he has nothing to say in his defence, and an ex parte decision will be taken under the rules, potentially resulting in removal or dismissal from service. He may also indicate whether he wishes to be heard in person.
