Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Final Notice to Dr. Inayat Ur Rehman

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has issued a final notice to Dr. Inayat Ur Rehman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy, under Section 14 of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Statutes, 2016 (Amended 2025).

The notice is addressed to Dr. Inayat Ur Rehman at the Department of Pharmacy, AWKUM, and to Dr. Inayat Ur Rehman, son of Saif Ur Rehman, House No. 08, Street No. 05, Professor Colony near Agriculture University, Peshawar.

Dr. Inayat Ur Rehman was granted extraordinary leave without pay from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025, through Office Order No. 1310 dated August 22, 2024, subject to resuming duties immediately upon expiry of the sanctioned leave. Instead of resuming duties upon completion of that period, he requested an extension. Under Section 15(3) of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Leave Statutes, 2016 (Amended 2025), an employee with less than ten years of continuous service may receive extraordinary leave for a maximum of two years. The university records the expiry of his leave as August 31, 2026.

A notice under Section 14 of the Employees Efficiency and Discipline Statutes, 2016 (Amended 2025), was served through No. 6249 dated September 7, 2026, directing him to resume duties within fifteen days. He has not resumed duties.

The university Syndicate, acting as the Authorized Officer under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities (Amendment) Act, 2024, read with the university's Employees Efficiency and Discipline Statutes, 2016 (Amended 2025), again directed him to resume duties at its 50th meeting held on October 17, 2026. He must resume duties at the university within fifteen days from the publication date of this notice.

Failure to comply within the stipulated period will result in ex-parte proceedings under the Employees Efficiency and Discipline Statutes, 2016 (Amended 2025), which may lead to the major penalty of removal from service.
