Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Final Show Cause Notice to Dr. Syed Roohullah Jan

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has issued a final show cause notice to Dr. Syed Roohullah Jan, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, directing him to resume his duties within fifteen (15) days from the date of publication of the notice.

The notice is addressed to Dr. Syed Roohullah Jan at the Department of Computer Science, AWKUM, and to Dr. Syed Roohullah Jan, son of Syed Subhanullah, Village Mani Khela, Dargai, Tehsil and District Charsadda.

In its 53rd meeting held on May 16, 2026, the university Syndicate granted him a final opportunity to join the university within one month of the meeting, by June 15, 2026. Failure to comply would result in removal from service under the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Statutes, 2016, amended in 2025. He joined duties on June 15, 2026, and signed an undertaking that he would not proceed abroad or leave his duty station without prior approval from the authorities. The undertaking also provided that, in case of failure, the Syndicate's decision would be deemed final and implemented.

He was again absent from duties from July 15, 2026, without prior permission. Through letter No. 6283, dated September 7, 2026, he was directed to ensure his presence at the university immediately.

The Syndicate, acting as the Authorized Officer under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities (Amendment) Act, 2024, read with the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Statutes, 2016, amended in 2025, considered the matter in its 56th meeting held on October 17, 2026. It again directed him to resume duties at the university within fifteen (15) days from publication of this notice.

Failure to comply within the stipulated period will lead to ex parte proceedings or a decision under the university's Employees Efficiency and Discipline Statutes, which may result in the major penalty of removal from service.
