Bahria University, an initiative of the Pakistan Navy and an equal opportunity provider, invites applications from highly qualified, dynamic and experienced candidates for the position of Principal at BU Medical College, Karachi.

Requirements

• Qualification and experience as a Professor, with a Level-III qualification, in accordance with Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) requirements.
• Demonstrated research leadership, a strong publication record in Q1 and Q2 indexed journals, and the ability to lead, promote and implement high-impact interdisciplinary research initiatives, particularly through the practical application and integration of artificial intelligence in Medical Sciences.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary teaching methodologies and the regulations of PM&DC, the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), and other relevant health regulatory bodies.
• Demonstrated academic, administrative and managerial leadership, with the ability to effectively lead and manage faculty and administrative staff.
• Proven experience in institutional administration, including financial planning, budget management and effective resource utilization.
• Demonstrated expertise in quality assurance, accreditation processes, regulatory compliance and continuous enhancement of academic standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with institutional and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for the College aligned with the University's vision, mission and institutional goals.
• Cultivate a culture of academic excellence, discipline, research and innovation among faculty and students.
• Provide strategic leadership to promote high-quality research, spearhead publications in Q1 and Q2 journals, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and practical applications of artificial intelligence in Medical Sciences.
• Plan, coordinate and follow up on accreditation visits by relevant accreditation and regulatory bodies, ensuring successful accreditation of academic programmes.
• Ensure strict adherence to applicable University policies, regulations and standards, promoting a compliant and ethical academic environment.
• Foster strong relationships with faculty, students, alumni, professional bodies, and other academic and healthcare institutions to strengthen institutional collaboration.
• Ensure professional excellence and continuous improvement in all academic, administrative and operational functions of the College.
• Perform any other duty assigned by the competent University authorities.
